Achievements While fun-employed

07 Sep 2017

Since leaving WDS a month ago I’ve been pretty busy. A handful of people mentioned an interest in what I’ve been up too and so here’s a quick list.

I hacked together multiple experiments to keep my skills up, further my development, network and hopefully help people out in various ways.

Just to be clear, none of these things require any support or had any ongoing contracts and therefore could be dropped as necessary if a new role came around

The list includes:

  • A commercial vehicle sourcing system which finds vans for sale at a profitable price
  • A private number plate sourcing system
  • A prototype for collating online content and increasing awareness of companies which support community organisations
  • Data visualisation software for sports player attributes and research relating to the modelling of sporting data
  • A website aiding football fans who wish to find travel services
  • A website which can automatically generate and print patterns (from custom images) which aid the use of popular children’s craft product
  • Marketing consultation, website creation and graphic design for a gym, community groups, a charitable event, restaurants, a motor trade company and a clothing brand startup
  • My own personal website for storing blogs and ‘spikes’
  • Image manipulation to provide awareness for community organisations and charities
  • Social media data extraction with application of machine learning algorithms and output generation
  • A jovial joke generation website

Most importantly, I got a new job at SmartStream which I am now massively excited to make a start on

I also found time to follow Bristol Rovers to Portugal, England to Malta and give the ‘little un’ a decent summer. Brap
