Guess Who. Developer Edition
At WDS I like to think our development work is really interesting. We are working on ‘productionising’ the cutting edge machine learning research produced by some of the world’s most renown research facilities including XRCE and PARC (the Palo Alto Research Centre, who are responsible for window based operating systems, the mouse, Ethernet cables etc).
Recently in an attempt to verify a solution we had implemented for problem diagnostics we attempted to make a system that could play the Hasbro game Guess Who. We had a vibrant demo where people from the audience picked a character and the system asked questions to work out who they had selected.
Not only was it good fun and a decent mechanism for testing the effectiveness of our development efforts but also made great inspiration for a present for a person that moved on to a new role
